Question:
The wild donkeys commonly known to people are the striped ones. Some researchers say that after researching and reviewing books on animals, none of them have established that they are these, except in some later references. I asked some people knowledgeable about the environment and fungi, and they said: The common understanding among people is that they are the striped ones, and this is considered a matter of local expertise for us. As for the wild one, it is the one called al-Wadhihi. What is your opinion?
Answer:
Wild donkeys are known to be the striped ones. In *Hayat al-Hayawan* (The Life of Animals), the subject is mentioned in a section dedicated to their life and a description of their characteristics. As for al-Wadhihi, it is different.
