Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Reciting short surahs in the third and fourth rak'ahs after al-Fatihah?

Answer:
Just al-Fatihah, except in the midday prayer, where sometimes one may recite extra in the third and fourth rak'ahs. There is a hadith of Abu Sa'id that indicates this.
Q: What is established regarding Abu Bakr al-Siddiq in the sunset prayer...
The Shaykh: It is reported from al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) that he recited:
Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided usرَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا
[Ali 'Imran 3:8]
in the third rak'ah.
