The Book of Jihad, Expeditions, and Authority-10b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Ibn Numayr narrated to us, both saying: Abdullah ibn Idris narrated to us. And Rafi'ah ibn al-Haytham narrated to us, and Khalid—meaning al-Tahhan—narrated to us. Both of them say: from Husayn, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from Jabir, who said:
If we had been a hundred thousand in number, it (the water) would have sufficed us, but actually we were fifteen hundred. لَوْ كُنَّا مِائَةَ أَلْفٍ لَكَفَانَا، كُنَّا خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةً
