We request your clarification of the hadith: “When one of you enters the gathering, let him offer the greeting of peace, and when he leaves, let him offer the greeting of peace; the first is not more deserving than the second,” and how it encourages the Muslim to seize opportunities for reward.

The Shaykh : Why? Because of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): .
The questioner : Praise be to Allah.
The Shaykh : This means that the Muslim is eager to seize the opportunities and occasions that help him in the remembrance of Allah. Among the things by which Allah (Mighty and Majestic) praised His believing servants is His saying:[Ali 'Imran 3:191]; and therefore He (the Exalted) commanded in His saying: [Al-Ahzab 33:41-42]. So if the Muslim seizes these occasions and opportunities and remembers Allah on every occasion, his remembrance of Allah will be abundant. Meanwhile, other people imagine that he must sit in a place in the mosque or at home and remember Allah day and night, neglecting the affairs he was commanded to carry out. That is not the case. Rather, it is as He (the Exalted) said: [Al-Jumu'ah 62:10]. So seeking the bounty of Allah does not at all preclude remembering Allah frequently. How? By occasion: you enter the gathering and offer the greeting of peace, you leave and offer the greeting of peace, like a saw going up and down.
When one of you enters the gathering, let him offer the greeting of peace, and when he leaves, let him offer the greeting of peace; the first is not more deserving than the second.
إذا دخل أحدكم المجلس فليسلِّم ، وإذا خرج فليسلِّم ؛ فليست الأولى بأحقَّ من الأخرىThe questioner : Praise be to Allah.
The Shaykh : This means that the Muslim is eager to seize the opportunities and occasions that help him in the remembrance of Allah. Among the things by which Allah (Mighty and Majestic) praised His believing servants is His saying:
Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides
الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَى جُنُوبِهِمْremember Allah with much remembrance (42) And exalt Him morning and afternoon.
اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا * وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًاAnd when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah
فَإِذَا قُضِيَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَانْتَشِرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَابْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِ
