Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... and he sold the dirhams on credit, then exchanged them after ... .

The Shaykh : What is ... ?

The questioner : ... and it was not hand-to-hand.

The Shaykh : Yes, it was hand-to-hand.

The questioner : Did he not sell the wheat ten days ago?

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Then ..

The Shaykh : For dirhams.

The questioner : Then he took ... and it was not present.

The Shaykh : In exchange for the dirhams.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : So he and they delivered the dinars.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : So it was hand-to-hand.

The questioner : What is the difference between this and the previous case?

The Shaykh : The previous one, because rice is not sold for wheat on credit.

The questioner : Is not the wheat ... all of it involving riba?

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : He sold the dates for dirhams, and selling dates for dirhams does not prohibit delay, meaning postponement.

The questioner : And he sold the wheat for dirhams.

The Shaykh : Fine, and what did he exchange?

The questioner : Dinars.

The Shaykh : There is no harm in this, provided that it is at the current market price and that they do not separate with anything between them. Ibn 'Umar said, "We used to sell camels for dirhams and take dinars in exchange, and sell them for dinars and take dirhams in exchange. So we asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said,
There is no harm in taking them at the current rate so long as you do not separate leaving something still to be settled (from the exchange). لا بأس أن تأخذها بسعر يومها ما لم تتفرّقا وبينكما شيء
Bulugh al-Maram 7:28
"

The questioner : O Shaykh, he sold at the same moment; he sold for dirhams before the dinars, immediately.

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : He sold for dirhams and then took dinars immediately.

The Shaykh : Fine, there is no obstacle.

The questioner : And this case?

The Shaykh : This case, or did he exchange the dirhams for dinars after that? Yes?
