The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
We have previously spoken about the beginning of this hadith, the hadith of 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), regarding the story of three men who took shelter in a cave for the night. They entered the cave to sleep so they could rise in the morning, but a rock rolled down and blocked the entrance of the cave, and they were unable to move it. So each of them sought nearness to Allah through a good deed. As for one of them, he sought nearness through his intense dutifulness to his parents, and we have previously spoken about that. As for the second, he sought nearness to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) through complete chastity. That is because he had a cousin, and he loved her with an intense love, as intensely as men love women. He sought to compel her to herself: meaning he sought, may Allah protect us, to commit unlawful sexual intercourse with her, but she did not agree and refused. Then a year of hardship struck her: meaning she was afflicted with poverty and need, so she was compelled to offer herself for unlawful sexual intercourse out of dire necessity. This is not permissible, but in any case, this is what happened. She came to him, and he gave her one hundred and twenty dinars: meaning one hundred and twenty pounds, in order for her to allow him to be with her. She did so out of need and dire necessity. When he sat with her in the position of a man with his wife, intending to do so, she said to him this wonderful and great word:Sahih al-Bukhari 2215 She considered this to be among the sins. For this reason, she said to him: : When she said to him this word that came from the depths of her heart, it entered the depths of his heart. He rose from her, and she was the most beloved person to him, meaning his desire for her did not cease, nor did he hate her, but his love for her remained in his heart. However, the fear of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) overtook him. So he rose from her, and she was the most beloved person to him, and he left for her the gold he had given her, one hundred and twenty dinars. Then he said: Sahih al-Bukhari 2272: So the rock split open, except that they were unable to get out. This is among the signs of Allah, because Allah is capable of all things. If Allah the Exalted had willed, He would have split it open for them the first time. But He, Exalted and Majestic, willed to keep this rock until each of them completed what He willed for them to seek nearness with from good deeds. And success is from Allah.

We have previously spoken about the beginning of this hadith, which is the story of the three who took shelter in the night, so they sought refuge in a cave and entered it. A rock closed over them and blocked the entrance of the cave, and they were unable to move it. So they sought nearness to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) through their good deeds. As for one of them, he sought nearness to Allah through complete dutifulness to his parents. As for the second, he sought nearness to Allah the Exalted through complete chastity from unlawful sexual intercourse. As for the third: he sought nearness to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) through trustworthiness, reform, and sincerity in work. He mentioned that he hired workers for a certain job, and he paid them their wages except for one man who left his wage and did not take it. So this employer invested the money, investing his wage, meaning he used it to earn a living through buying and selling and other means until it grew. It became camels, cattle, sheep, and slaves: servants, great wealth. So he came to him after some time and said to him:Sahih al-Bukhari 2272: The wage I have with you is small, how is it that everything I see of camels, cattle, sheep, and slaves is mine? Do not mock me, , because they sought nearness to Allah through the good deeds they did with sincerity for Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
