The Shaykh : Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned the hadith of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, this great hadith in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said at the end: Sahih Muslim 8a : Thus, our religion is in this hadith; our religion is in this hadith, because it encompasses the entire religion: Islam, faith, and excellence in worship. 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Musnad Ahmad 367, 368Lts isnad is Sahih, Muslim (8) : “While” is a temporal adverb indicating suddenness, which is why it is followed by “idh,” which also indicates suddenness. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) often sat with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was not absent from his Companions or his family; he was either at home attending to his household affairs (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him), milking the sheep, mending the garment, or patching the sandal; or he was with his Companions in the mosque; or he was going to visit a sick person, or a relative, or something else of the matters in which he did not pass a single moment except in obedience to Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He preserved his time, unlike us who waste our time. It is strange that the most precious thing for a person is time, yet it is the cheapest thing for a person. [Al-Mu'minun 23:99] Why? [Al-Mu'minun 23:100] : So that I do not waste my time. He does not say: “Perhaps I will enjoy wealth, enjoy my wife, enjoy my ride, enjoy the palaces.” No, [Al-Mu'minun 23:100] the time has passed and I have not benefited from it. This is the most precious thing, but it is the cheapest thing for us now. We spend much time without benefit, and sometimes we spend much time in what is harmful. I am not speaking about one specific man, but about the Muslims in general today. With great regret, they are in heedlessness, play, and forgetfulness. They are not serious about the matters of their religion; most of them are in forgetfulness and luxury, looking at what they can use to pamper their bodies, even if it destroys their religions. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was always engaged in private or public benefits (peace and blessings be upon him). So, while the Companions were sitting with him, : This is strange. He is not a traveler, so we would say he is a stranger to the town, and he is not known, so we would say he is from the people of the town. They were amazed by him. Then this man who came was a clean man, intensely white in his garments, intensely black in his hair, a young man with no sign of travel on him, because a traveler, especially in that time, would be disheveled and dusty, whether on camels or on foot, and the ground was not paved, so it was all dust. But no sign of travel was seen on him, and none of us knew him, so he was a stranger, not a stranger. Until he came and sat with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This man is Jibril (peace be upon him), one of the great angels, indeed the best of the angels, as far as we know, due to the honor of his work, because he is in charge of carrying the revelation from Allah to the messengers (peace be upon them). He is entrusted with the revelation. He is a great angel whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw in his created form twice: once on earth and once in the sky. Once on earth, he was in the Cave of Hira and saw him with six hundred wings. Six hundred wings that filled the horizon. The entire horizon was blocked before the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him); he could not see the sky above, because this angel had blocked the horizon because he had six hundred wings. Subhan Allah, because Allah says about the angels: [Fatir 35:1] They have wings with which they fly swiftly. And the second time was at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said: : This is on earth. Jibril approached from above and descended: he came close to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so he revealed to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) what he revealed of the revelation of Allah that he carried to him. As for the second time, he said: [An-Najm 53:13-14] : This is Jibril. But Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has given them the ability to take forms other than their original forms. Here he came in the form of this man, and the rest of the speech on this will come, if Allah wills.

Umar, do you know who this inquirer was? I replied: Allah and His Apostle knows best. He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: He was Gabriel (the angel). He came to you in order to instruct you in matters of religion.
Whilst we were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) one day, a man came to us
[For such is the state of the disbelievers], until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back
That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind
That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind
A man appeared to them, intensely white in his garments, intensely black in his hair, with no sign of travel on him, and none of us recognized him.
إذ طلع عليهم رجل شديد بياض الثياب ، شديد سواد الشعر لا يُرى عليه أثر السفر ولا يعرفه منا أحد[who] made the angels messengers having wings
It is not except a revelation that is revealed. He taught him the One of intense strength. And he was in the highest horizon. Then he approached and descended. So he was at the distance of two bows’ length or closer.
(13) And he certainly saw him in another descent (14) At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary -
