Explanation of the words of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he quoted: "

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, regarding what he quoted from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him):
That a black woman used to clean the mosque, or a young man أن امرأة سوداء كان تَقُم المسجد أو شاباًّ
: Most of the narrations state that it was a woman,
Black سوداء
: meaning she was not from the Arab women,
Clean the mosque تَقُم المسجد
: meaning she cleaned it and removed the trash, so she died. She died at night, and the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) considered her status insignificant, and they said, 'There is no need for us to inform the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this at night.' Then they took her out and buried her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) missed her, so they said, 'She has died.' He said:
Why did you not inform me? هلا كنتم آذنتموني
meaning: Did you not inform me when she died? Then he said:
Show me her grave, so they showed him, and he prayed for her, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, these graves are filled with darkness for their people, and Allah illuminates them for them with my prayer for them دلوني على قبرها، فدلوه، فصلى عليها، ثم قال صلى الله عليه وسلم : إن هذه القبور مملوءة ظلمة على أهلها، وإن الله ينورها لهم بصلاتي عليهم
