The Meaning of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) Saying: "The Earnings of the Cupper Are Foul"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And among the uses of "foul" to describe bad earnings is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
The earnings of the cupper are foul كسب الحجام خبيث
: The cupper who draws blood by cupping; his earnings are foul, meaning bad, and it is not intended that they are forbidden. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) said: "If the earnings of the cupper were forbidden, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not have given him his wage" ,
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used cupping and gave the cupper his wage, and if it had been forbidden, he would not have given it to him فقد احتجم النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم، وأعطى الحجام أجره ، ولو كانت حراماً ما أعطاه
, because the Messenger does not approve of the forbidden nor assist in the forbidden. But this is in the category of earnings that are bad and lowly; a person should keep himself away from them, and he should cup people when they need cupping as a favor and voluntarily.
