The Shaykh : The hadith of Abu Sa'id regarding the story of the man who came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on his mount, and he kept looking to the right and left. It seems the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) understood that the man was in need, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Riyad as-Salihin 969, and he did not rush to say: 'Whoever has an extra provision,' so as not to embarrass the man, but rather he said: : The man did not need a mount because he was on his own, but this is from the beauty of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) speech. He says: And all of this is from the category of preferring others over oneself.
As for the fourth hadith, the hadith of Sahl ibn Sa'd:: And he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not turn away a gift, but rather he accepted the gift and rewarded it, may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him. And this is from his generosity and good character. So a man came forward to him and said: 'How beautiful this is,' and he asked for it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) gave it to him. It was said to the man: 'How did you ask for it when you know that he does not turn away a supplicant?' He said: 'By Allah, I did not ask for it to wear it, but only for it to be my shroud,' may Allah be pleased with him. So he kept it with him, and it became his shroud. In this is the preference of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for this man over himself, because he preferred this man with it, even though it appeared that he was in need of it.
He who has an extra mount should hand it over to one who has none, and he who possesses surplus provision, should give it to him who is without provision." He named various kinds of
