Explanation of the Book of Clothing-03a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Ya'qub ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us from Abu Hazim from Sahl ibn Sa'd, who said:
A woman came with a burdah. Sahl said: Do you know what a burdah is? He said: Yes, it is a shamlah with weaving on its border. She said: O Messenger of Allah, I wove this with my own hands.
.

The Shaykh : Clothe you in it.
The reader:
Clothe you in it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took it, as he was in need of it. Then he came out to us, and it was his izar. A man from among the people felt it and said: O Messenger of Allah, clothe me in it. He said: Yes. He sat for as long as Allah willed in the assembly, then he returned, folded it, and sent it to him. The people said to him: You have not done well; you asked him for it, and you knew that he does not turn away a supplicant. The man said: By Allah, I did not ask for it except to be my shroud on the day I die. Sahl said: So it became his shroud.
