Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: He said (may Allah have mercy on him) in the context of the verses in the chapter on remembering death and shortening hope: "Allah the Exalted said:
Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient.
[Al-Hadid 57:16]
, and the verses in this chapter are numerous and well known.
As for the hadiths: From Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) he said:
‘Abdallah b. ‘Umar told of God’s messenger taking him by the shoulders and saying, ‘‘Be in the world as though you were a stranger or one who is passing through.” Ibn ‘Umar used to say, “In the evening do not expect to see the morning and in the morning do not expect to see the evening, but take something when in health to serve you in time of illness and something in your life to serve you in your death.” Bukhari transmitted it.
