The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted, in the context of the hadiths in the chapter on good character: " From al-Nu'man ibn Sam'an (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:Bulugh al-Maram 16:3 Muslim narrated it.
And from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said:Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 18:14 Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
And from Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Al-Tirmidhi narrated it and said: It is a good, authentic hadith.
And from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Al-Tirmidhi narrated it and said: It is a good, authentic hadith ".
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
These hadiths were cited by al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) in the chapter on good character in the book *Riyad al-Salihin, and some of this has been mentioned previously.
As for the hadiths of this day, they are from al-Nu'man ibn Sam'an (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The explanation of this phrase has already been given, and we clarified that good character brings about much good, because righteousness is much good. As for sin, he said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2389Sahih (Darussalam) : "nags in the heart" means the heart does not find peace with it, but hesitates about it, and one dislikes people finding out about it. However, this is an address to the believer. As for the open sinner, sin does not nag in his chest, and he does not care if people find out about it; rather, he openly commits it and does not mind. But the believer, because Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has given him light in his heart: when he intends to commit a sin, it nags in his chest, he hesitates about it, and he dislikes people finding out about it. So this criterion is only for the believers. As for the open sinners, they do not care if people find out about their sins, and sins do not nag in their chests; rather, they commit them, may Allah protect us from that, with ease and openness. Because Allah the Exalted says: [Fatir 35:8] : It may be that evil deeds are made attractive to a person, so his chest opens up to them. Just as we see the people of open sin who drink intoxicants and their chests open up to it, and those who deal in usury or interest and their chests open up to that, and those who habituate themselves to fornication and unlawful sexual intercourse and their chests open up to that, and they do not mind it. Rather, if they do it in secret, they go around spreading it and announcing it. Just as we find some of the open sinners who go to licentious, sinful foreign countries and return, and they start talking: I did such and such, and I did such and such, meaning they committed fornication with such and such, and fornication with such and such, may Allah protect us from that, and they drank intoxicants and the like.
In these hadiths, the description of the Messenger (may prayers and peace be upon him) is clarified: that he was not obscene nor one who incited obscenity. This means that he (may prayers and peace be upon him) was far from obscenity, whether by nature or by choice. He was not obscene in his self or his instinct; rather, he was gentle and easy-going. He was not one who incited obscenity, meaning he did not affect obscenity. Rather, he (may prayers and peace be upon him) was the furthest of people from obscenity in his speech and his actions, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him. In it is also the encouragement of good character, and that it is among the heaviest things on the scale on the Day of Resurrection. This is from the chapter of encouraging it. So you, my Muslim brother, must improve your character with Allah (Mighty and Majestic) by receiving His cosmic and legislative rulings with an open, submissive, satisfied, and surrendered chest. And likewise with the servants of Allah, for Allah the Exalted loves the doers of good. And may Allah grant success.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted, in the context of the hadiths in the chapter on good character: " From al-Nu'man ibn Sam'an (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about virtue and sin and he replied, “The essence of virtue is (manifested in) good morals (Akhlaq) whereas sinful conduct is that which turns in your heart (making you feel uncomfortable) and you dislike that it would be disclosed to other people.”
And from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was not obscene nor one who incited obscenity, and he used to say: Indeed, the best of you are those with the best character
And from Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Nothing is heavier on the scale of the believing servant on the Day of Resurrection than good character, and indeed Allah hates the obscene and the vulgar
And from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about what brings people into Paradise the most? He said: The fear of Allah and good character. And he was asked about what brings people into the Fire the most? He said: The mouth and the private parts
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:

البرّ حسن الخلقwhat fluctuates in your chest, and you would hate that the people discovered it about you.
Then is one to whom the evil of his deed has been made attractive so he considers it good [like one rightly guided]? For indeed, Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills
