The ruling on one who saves from his earnings for his children after his death

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man asks and says: If it is prescribed for him to earn a living to protect his honor and that of his children, is it prescribed for him to save from his wealth for after his death, meaning: to earn with the intention that his children will be self-sufficient after him?

Answer:
There is nothing wrong with it. He should save just as al-Ṣiddiq saved, and as 'Umar saved, and as 'Abd al-Raḥmān ibn 'Awf saved. But the point is that he should not be occupied with it to the neglect of the Hereafter. So wealth should not turn him away from the Hereafter, nor should it be the greatest concern of his heart.
