The Ruling on the Secret Habit and the Response to Those Who Permit It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
How do you reconcile the ruling on the satanic secret habit with the statement of Imam Ahmad regarding it?

Answer:
The secret habit is reprehensible. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says:
(5) And they who guard their private parts (6) Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed -وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ ۝ إِلَّا عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ ۝
[Al-Mu'minun 23:5-6]
So whoever seeks beyond that, those are the transgressors [Al-Mu’minun: 5-7]. Whoever seeks other than a wife or a slave woman is a transgressor and an oppressor, and the secret habit is other than that; it is the emission of semen by the hand or the like.
Q: On what basis is the statement of Imam Ahmad to be understood?
A: I do not know. Is Ahmad a scholar or a prophet?
Q: A scholar.
A: From a scholar, one takes what is said and leaves what is said; some of it agrees with the truth, and some of it contradicts the truth.
