The ruling on greeting the mosque during the Friday sermon

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Many people enter on Friday while the imam is delivering the sermon and do not pray the greeting of the mosque; is it permissible for the imam to forbid...?

Answer:
No, the Sunnah is that they pray. Whoever enters while the imam is delivering the sermon should pray the greeting. The imam has to remind them. This is why, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man enter and not pray the greeting, he said:
Get up and pray two rak'ahs (units of prayer)قم فصل ركعتين
, and he was in the middle of the sermon, peace and blessings be upon him.
Q: But there are many of them. Does he remind every single person who enters?
The Shaykh: No, he reminds them in general, and they will know, if Allah wills... He says: Whoever enters, let him pray two rak'ahs. Whoever enters the mosque, let him pray two rak'ahs. Even if the imam is delivering the sermon, he should remind them; so that the command of Allah is conveyed.
