Friday: Does one who enters the mosque pray the greeting of the mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The seventh question of Fatwa No. ( 18612 )
Q 7: When entering the mosque during the Friday sermon, is the greeting of the mosque obligatory? And is it possible to delay the 'Isha' prayer to perform it shortly after midnight, for example at 2:00 AM?
A 7: First: It is prescribed for one who enters the mosque to pray two rak'ahs as the greeting of the mosque before sitting down—that is, at the time of his entry—and this includes when the imam is delivering the sermon. A hadith specifically regarding this was narrated by Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) in (the two Sahihs). He said:
A man entered the mosque on a Friday when the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering the Khutbah (religious talk, sermon) and he [the Prophet (ﷺ)] said, "Have you prayed? He replied, "No." He [the Prophet (ﷺ)] said, "Stand and pray two Rak'at."دخل رجل يوم الجمعة والنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب فقال: صليت؟ فقال: لا، قال: قم فصل ركعتين
Bulugh al-Maram 2:376
. Second: The time for the 'Isha' prayer extends to the middle of the night, which is the preferred time for it.
And the time after that until the dawn is a time of dire necessity, and it is not permissible to delay the prayer until then, just as it is not permissible to delay the 'Asr prayer until the sun turns yellow. However, if a Muslim delays it for a valid legal excuse, the prayer falls within the time of dire necessity, and he must repent to Allah for delaying it to that time if it was without a valid legal excuse. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
