When Abu Hurayrah and Hudhayfah came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and shrank back from him, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Major ritual impurity is one of the conditions that is not impurity; it is a condition that obligates the full ritual bath. Likewise, menstruation obligates the full ritual bath. The woman is pure; her sweat is pure, her saliva is pure, what she touches is pure, and her hair is pure. Similarly, the person in a state of major ritual impurity has pure sweat and a pure body, but he must perform the full ritual bath as Allah has commanded him.
