The Ruling on One Who Is Killed While Defending a Woman’s Honor

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If a person sees someone encroaching upon the honor of a Muslim woman and defends her, and then he is killed?

Answer:
He is a martyr, without doubt; because he is the wronged party.
Q: What if he killed him?
The Shaykh: The one who was killed is the wrongdoer. The one who was killed is in the Fire. The wrongdoer who encroaches upon the sanctity of Muslims is a wrongdoer. We ask Allah for safety. That is to say, he is threatened with the Fire, subject to the will of Allah.
Q: What if he killed him in defense of the woman?
The Shaykh: The killer is a scholar who exercised independent reasoning and is rewarded. The one who was killed, who was killed for his premeditation of the sin, deserves the Fire, as stated in the hadith, because of his injustice. We ask Allah for safety.
Q: What if the aggressor could be repelled by means other than killing?
The Shaykh: He should repel him with the easiest means first: by striking, by speaking, by threatening. If he cannot be repelled except by killing, then killing him is permissible
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
