Ruling on saying: “Divorced three times, the forbidden kind,” and repeating that

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: From Abdulaziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz, to the honorable brother, M. M. Z., may Allah guide him to all good, amen.
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. After that:
Your letter dated 20/6/1393 AH, may Allah guide you, has arrived, and what it contained regarding the fact that a misunderstanding occurred between you and your wife, and you were very foolish with her, and you divorced her with the following divorce: you said to her when she requested divorce: “You are divorced three times, the forbidden kind.” She said: “Add to it.” I said to her: “You have the same.” She said: “Add to it.” I said to her: “You have the same.” She said: “Add to it.” I said to her: “You have the same.” And your desire for a fatwa was known.

Answer: I do not see a way for you to return to her until she marries a husband other than you; because you have exhausted the number of divorces that separate her from you, and you must repent from that; because divorcing with three, and more than that, is a matter that is not permissible.
May Allah protect everyone from the whispers of Satan, and may He make the outcome good for all of you.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
