Question: From 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Baz, to the presence of the sister in Allah / A. A. – may Allah guide her and increase her in knowledge and faith, amen.
Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. As for what follows:
Your letter dated 7/4/1994 CE has reached me – may Allah guide you – and may He make us and you among His righteous servants and the successful group.
I was pleased to receive the books from you, so praise be to Allah, and the questions contained therein were known. Here is the answer to them:
A woman in the hospital had a daughter who was seriously ill; she had only half a lung, and the other half had withered away, her legs were swollen, and her eyes were closed. Her mother went to the hospital courtyard to get her clothes for five minutes. When she returned, she found her fallen on the ground from the bed. Ten minutes after the fall, she died. So her mother says: Do I have a sin against her? Or what should she do?
Answer: There is nothing required of the mother of the deceased sick girl; because she did not do what caused her death, and the original state is the innocence of the conscience.
