Question:
What is the Shaykh's advice to those who let months and long periods pass without touching the noble Book of Allah without an excuse, and you find one of them following unhelpful magazines?
Answer:
It is recommended for the believing man and woman to read the Book of Allah frequently with reflection and understanding—whether from the mushaf or from memory—because of the saying of Allah, the Exalted: [Surah Sad: 29], and His saying: [Fatir 35:29] so that He may give them in full their rewards and increase them from His bounty. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Appreciative [Surah Fatir: 29-30].
The recitation mentioned includes reading and following, and reading with reflection, understanding, and sincerity to Allah is a means of following, and it carries a great reward, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 804a. Muslim narrated it in his Sahih. He (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: Sunan Abi Dawud 1452Sahih (Al-Albani) Al-Bukhari narrated it in his Sahih. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Riyad as-Salihin 999.
It is established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said to Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As:Sahih Muslim 1159d, so he said: "I am able to do more than that," so he said: , and the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would complete it in every seven days.
My advice to all readers of the Qur'an is to read it frequently with reflection, understanding, and sincerity to Allah, with the intention of benefit and knowledge, and to complete it in every month. If it is facilitated to do so in less than that, that is a great good.
He may complete it in less than seven days, and it is better not to complete it in less than three days; because that is the minimum to which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As, and because reading it in less than three days may lead to haste and lack of reflection.
It is not permissible to read it from the mushaf except in a state of ritual purity. As for if he reads it from memory, there is no blame on him if he reads it while not in a state of wudu.
As for the one in a state of major ritual impurity, he may not read it from the mushaf or from memory until he takes a ghusl; because Imam Ahmad and the people of the Sunan narrated with a good chain from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was not prevented from the Qur'an by anything except major ritual impurity." And success is from Allah.

خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمهWhoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.
