The correct method that a student of knowledge must follow

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your father, the Shaykh: What is the correct method that a student of Islamic jurisprudence must follow in order to achieve what he desires, namely pleasing Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), and acquiring beneficial and useful knowledge for himself and for the Muslims? And what are the factors that help the student to memorize and for the issues to become firmly established in his mind without being forgotten?

Answer:
The greatest of the causes is that you fear your Lord by obeying Him and leaving His disobedience, and by being sincere to Him and asking Him for repentance, assistance, and success. Then, pay attention to the lessons and review, and guard your time; for this is among the greatest of the causes.
And among the causes of that as well is reviewing with one's companions, and striving for benefit; so that the knowledge becomes settled. Do not be content with just your reading and the lesson with the teacher, but along with that, review with good companions regarding what is difficult for you, until the knowledge becomes settled in your mind.
