Encouraging the Study and Memorization of the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner: May the Shaykh be respected: The circles for memorizing the Noble Qur'an in this blessed land, may Allah benefit them with great benefit. What do you advise the teachers and students of these circles?

Answer:
We direct them, we advise them to fear Allah, to persist in this good, to be patient with this good, and to be sincere for the face of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) in learning and teaching; because learning the Qur'an and memorizing the Qur'an are among the most important acts of drawing near to Allah and among the best acts of drawing near to Him. So we advise everyone—the teacher and the student—we advise them to fear Allah, to act upon what they have learned, and to be sincere to Allah in their actions; so that Allah may bless their deeds, and so that they may be successful in their deeds. That is: the student learns so that he benefits and acts, and the teacher intends the face of Allah in teaching the student and guiding him to good. He hopes for the reward from Allah—even if he takes a wage—he hopes for what is with Allah and counts on the reward. He gives advice in his teaching, and he strives in the means that convey the information to the student and settle it in his mind. So this one fears Allah, and this one fears Allah. There is sincerity and desire for good in each one, and that he learns what pleases Allah and brings him closer to Him, and that he seeks help with what Allah has given him of knowledge in obeying Allah.
