The ruling on seeking forgiveness and sending blessings upon the Messenger of Allah in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
When the one praying recites the words of Allah the Exalted:
Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.
[Al-Ahzab:56] or the command to seek forgiveness and the like, does he verbalize it in the prayer or seek forgiveness?

Answer:
It is recommended to do so in voluntary prayers, such as the night prayer; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the late-night voluntary prayer, and when he passed a verse of mercy, he would ask for it, when he passed a verse of warning, he would seek refuge, and when he passed a verse of glorification, he would glorify. And Allah the Exalted said:
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent patternلَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ
[Al-Ahzab:21], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayersصلوا كما رأيتموني أصلي
