The ruling on traveling to shrines and the graves of the dead out of ignorance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
O Shaykh, the common people among the Sufis attend the mawlid celebrations. These mawlid celebrations are held, and they think that this is Islam. That is, their understanding is that this is Islam, that this is the religion, and that this is worship. They travel to the shrines and the graves of the dead, thinking that this is the religion. What is the ruling regarding them?

Answer:
What do you have regarding the mother of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? Did she have knowledge of the religion? This is the mother of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) seek permission to seek forgiveness for her, and was he granted permission, or was he not? Did she embrace Islam, or did she embrace prophethood? She lived in the pre-Islamic age of ignorance and was not excused, because she lived upon the remnants of the religion of Ibrahim, and so did the Arabs. They lived upon the remnants of the religion of Ibrahim and neglected it, so they were not excused, and they were judged to be in disbelief, ignorance, and misguidance. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was not granted permission to seek forgiveness for his mother, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the one who asked him about his father:
Verily my father and your father are in the Fire.إن أبي وأباك في النار
Sahih Muslim 203
.
And his father died in the pre-Islamic age of ignorance. What about those who lived in Islam and among the Muslims, and they said to them: O people, fear Allah, O people, worship Allah, and then they strike him or kill him and say: You are a Wahhabi, you have in you what is not in you. They do not want the call of Allah and turning to Him. The callers of ignorance deceived them, the scholars of evil deceived them. But it is obligatory for them to ask and not be satisfied with scholars of evil. They should ask when the caller of truth comes to them. They have the Qur'an, and He, the Exalted, says:
And this Qur'an was revealed to me that I may warn you thereby and whomever it reaches.وَأُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنُ لِأُنْذِرَكُمْ بِهِ وَمَنْ بَلَغَ
[Al-An'am: 19].
It is not permissible for them to be lenient in this matter at all. The callers of truth should advise and clarify, because Allah will ask them about what they did with their knowledge, as He, the Exalted, said:
And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned.وَإِنَّهُ لَذِكْرٌ لَكَ وَلِقَوْمِكَ وَسَوْفَ تُسْأَلُونَ
[Al-Zukhruf: 44]. And success is from Allah.
