Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, may Allah be pleased with them all.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted in the context of the hadiths in the chapter on the description of the length of the shirt, the sleeve, the lower garment, and the end of the turban: "From Jabir ibn Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I saw a man whose opinion the people followed; he did not say anything but they would follow it. I said: Who is this? They said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I said: Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, twice. He said:Riyad as-Salihin 795 He said: I said: Are you the Messenger of Allah? He said: Riyad as-Salihin 795 He said: I said: Give me a covenant. He said: He said: So I did not curse any free person, slave, camel, or sheep after that Riyad as-Salihin 795 It was narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi with a sound chain, and al-Tirmidhi said: It is a good, authentic hadith."
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in *Riyad al-Saliheen*, in the book on clothing and what relates to the lower garment and the like, from Jabir ibn Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to al-Madinah and saw a man whose opinion the people followed; he did not say anything but they would follow it, meaning that they took what he said and what he directed because he was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family and his Companions). So he asked who this was, because the man did not know the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So he asked who this was? They said: The Messenger of Allah. So he came to him and said: "Are you the Messenger of Allah?" He said: But he said: "Peace be upon you" and he placed the news first, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family and his Companions) said: Riyad as-Salihin 795
"Peace be upon you, Qays ibn 'Amir *** And His mercy, as long as He wills to show mercy"
So in the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, when they greeted the dead, they would say: Peace be upon you. But Islam abrogated this, and the greeting came to be said to the one who is greeted first, "Peace be upon you," even to the dead. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family and his Companions) used to go out to them to the cemetery and greet them, saying:Sunan Abi Dawud 3237Sahih (Al-Albani) and he did not say: Peace be upon you. And in his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): is evidence that when a person greets one person, he says: Peace be upon you. And it also came in the hadith of the man who is called the one who does wrong in his prayer, that he came and greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Peace be upon you" in the singular, and this is the best. And some of the scholars say you say: "Peace be upon you" intending by that to greet the person you greeted and the angels with him. But what the Sunnah has come with is better and more excellent, that you say Peace be upon you, except if they are a group, then you greet them with the word "upon you," Peace be upon you. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified to him that he is the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds, who removes hardship and brings benefit. So if a camel is lost in a desert of the land, and you call upon Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), He returns it to you. He says: meaning: drought in the land and no vegetation, and you call upon Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) to cause the land to grow for you. And likewise, if hardship befalls you and you call upon Allah, He removes it from you, as He the Exalted said: [An-Naml 27:62] So he clarified to him that the Lord (Mighty and Majestic) brings good to His servants, and that if His servant calls upon Him, he will not be disappointed. And likewise, every supplication you make to your Lord, you will not be disappointed, even if nothing comes to you from it, except that supplication is worship for which you are rewarded, one good deed for ten times its like, up to seven hundred times, up to many times. And if there are no obstacles preventing the answer to the supplication, then Allah the Exalted either gives you what you asked for and you see it with your own eyes, you call upon Allah for something and it happens, or He removes from you a greater hardship, or He stores it for you with Allah. Otherwise, whoever calls upon Allah the Exalted will never be disappointed. But beware of delaying the answer and saying: I called and called, but I was not answered. For Satan may cast this into your heart and say how many times you called upon Allah and your request did not come, then he despairs you of the mercy of Allah, and refuge is sought in Allah from that. And this is of the major sins; despairing of the mercy of Allah is of the major sins. Do not despair of the mercy of Allah, even if the answer to the supplication is delayed. You do not know what is good? Allah the Exalted did not command you to supplicate except that He wants to answer you, as He the Exalted said: [Ghafir 40:60] But you hasten. Wait and persist in supplication to Allah. Perhaps Allah the Exalted delays your answer so that you increase in supplication, so your good deeds increase, and you know your own worth, and you know your need for Allah the Exalted. So this is better. So beware of hastening. Persist in supplication to Allah. And Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) loves those who persist in supplication and exaggerate in it, because the person calls upon whom? He calls upon the One to whom the ultimate end is, the Exalted, in whose hand is the dominion of all things. And whether that is in your prayer or in your seclusion, call upon Allah with whatever you wish, even while you are praying, call upon Allah with whatever you wish, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family and his Companions) said: Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 2:274 And when he mentioned the tashahhud, he said: Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:238 So the person has no one besides Allah, so let him turn to Him in every small and great matter. Until it came in the hadith: The strap of the sandal is the smallest thing. Ask Allah the Exalted, because asking is worship, and turning to Allah the Exalted, and returning to Allah, and being connected to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), so that your heart is always with Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). So increase in supplication. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family and his Companions) commanded Jabir ibn Sulaym not to belittle any act of kindness. Do every act of kindness, whether it is speech or action or status or anything else. Do not belittle any act of kindness, for kindness is of excellence, and Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) loves those who do good. If you helped a person load his belongings into his car, this is kindness. If you brought him something he needs, this is of kindness. If you gave him a pen to write with, this is of kindness. If you gave him an envelope in order to preserve something, this is of kindness. Do not belittle any act of kindness, for the best, for Allah loves those who do good. And know that there is a rule that if a person mentions it, it makes it easy for him to do good, and it is what is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his saying: Sahih al-Bukhari 6951 And what do you think if Allah is in your need, will the matters become difficult? The answer is no. If Allah is in your need, He helps you with your need and assists you with it, so no doubt it will become easy. So whenever you are in your brother's need, Allah is in your need. So increase in kindness, increase in excellence, and do not belittle anything. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih al-Bukhari 2566 If this small thing, and the rest of the words on the hadith will come, if Allah wills.

لا تسبن أحدًاDo not hold in contempt even an insignificant act of goodness because even talking to your brother with a cheerful countenance is an act of goodness. Hold up your lower garment half way to the leg, and at least above the ankles; for trailing it is arrogance, and Allah dislikes pride. And if a man attributes to you bad things he knows you possess, do not attribute to him bad things that you know he has for he will assume the evil consequences of his abuse.
