Continuation of the explanation of the hadith: “Hasten with the funeral, for if it is righteous, it is good that you hasten it to him, and if it is otherwise, it is evil that you remove from your necks.”

The Shaykh : Your servant dies, so interpret the dream of falling teeth as the death of your servant and your family. The king was frightened and did not like this interpretation, so he ordered the man to be flogged. Then he called another man and said to him, “I saw that my teeth fell out, so what is the interpretation?” He said, “The king will be the longest-lived of his family.” The meaning is the same, so he honored him and released him. Why? Because words have an impact. Therefore, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 3181Sahih (Al-Albani) Does a person like to carry evil, or does he like the evil to remain with him? Let it go; hasten with it if it is bad, may Allah protect us. Then he mentioned the hadith of Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that when a man dies and his funeral is carried, if it is righteous, it says: “Hasten with me, hasten with me,” saying in an audible voice that everyone hears, everything hears, except humans who do not hear it. This is a mercy from Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because if we heard what the dead say on their coffins, we would be distressed, but Allah has hidden it from us, though the animals hear it, everything hears it. It says: “Hasten with me, hasten with me” to what Allah has prepared for it of the bliss with which it was promised at the time of death. And if it is not righteous, it says: “O its guardian, where are you taking it? I seek refuge in Allah,” calling for woe because it will be hastened, may Allah grant us well-being, to punishment, punishment in the grave where the grave constricts it until its ribs differ, and a door to the Fire is opened for it, may Allah grant us well-being. No one knows about this; we are not aware of it, and it is a mercy from Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) that He has hidden it from us. If we knew about it, we would never bury each other, but Allah (Mighty and Majestic) hides this. And this indicates that it is the right of the deceased upon us that we hasten. It says: “Hasten with me, hasten with me” to what Allah has bestowed upon it. Therefore, the scholars said: It is recommended to hasten in preparing the deceased, except if he died suddenly, in which case one waits until one is certain that he has died, because it is possible that he was overcome and is still alive, so one waits until one is certain that he has died, then hastens with him. And success is from Allah.
