The reader: The author (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted: "From 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): أن رجلا أصاب من امرأة قُبلة، فأتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فأخبره، فأنزل الله تعالى: وأقم الصلاة طَرفي النهار وزُلَفاً من الليل إن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات ، فقال الرجل: أليَ هذا يا رسول الله ؟ That a man kissed a woman, so he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him, so Allah the Exalted revealed: And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove bad deeds. The man said: Is this for me, O Messenger of Allah? He said: For all my Ummah, all of them., agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
And from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he said:
Anas reported that a person came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: Allah's Messenger, I have committed an offence which deserves imposition of haad, so impose it upon me according to the Book of Allah. Thereupon he said: Were you not present with us at the time of prayer? He said: Yes. Thereupon he said: You have been granted pardon.
Sahih Muslim 2764
, agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
And from him he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah is pleased with His servant who says: Al-Hamdu lillah while taking a morsel of food and while drinking.
Sahih Muslim 2734a
, narrated by Muslim.
And from Abu Musa al-A'shari (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) he said:
Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, Stretches out His Hand during the night so that the people may repent for the fault committed from dawn till dusk and He stretches out His Hand during the day so that the people may repent for the fault committed from dusk to dawn. (He would accept repentance) before the sun rises in the west (before the Day of Resurrection).
Sahih Muslim 2759a, b
, narrated by Muslim.
And from him (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) he said:
When Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, intends to show mercy to an Umma from amongst His servants He calls back His Apostle to his eternal home and makes him a harbinger and recompense in the world to come; and when He intends to cause destruction to an Umma, He punishes it while its Apostle is alive and He destroys it as he (the Apostle) witnesses it and he cools his eyes by destruction as they had belied him and disobeyed his command.
Sahih Muslim 2288
, narrated by Muslim.
And from 'Amr ibn 'Abasa al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) he said:
I used to think during the pre-Islamic age of ignorance that the people were on misguidance and that they were not upon anything, while they were worshipping idols. Then I heard of a man in Mecca who was reporting news, so I mounted my mount and came to him. I found the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a state of lowliness, with his people being harsh toward him. I made myself comfortable until I entered upon him in Mecca and said to him: "Who are you?" He said: "I am a Prophet." I said: "And what is a Prophet?" He said: "Allah sent me." I said: "And with what did He send you?" He said: "He sent me to maintain family ties, to break the idols, and to make Allah one, with nothing associated with Him." I said: "Who is with you in this?" He said: "A free man and a slave." With him at that time were Abu Bakr and Bilal (may Allah be pleased with them both). I said: "I am going to follow you." He said: "You will not be able to do that on this day of yours. Do you not see my condition and the condition of the people? But return to your people, and when you hear that I have become prominent, come to me." So I went to my people, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in al-Madinah, and I was with my people. I kept inquiring about the news and asking the people when he arrived in al-Madinah, until a group of my people arrived in al-Madinah. I said: "What did this man who arrived in al-Madinah do?" They said: "The people are rushing to him, and his people wanted to kill him, but they were unable to do so." So I arrived in al-Madinah and entered upon him, and I said: "O Messenger of Allah, do you know me?" He said: "Yes, you are the one who met me in Mecca."
