The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted in the context of the hadiths in the chapter on the virtue of dhikr and the exhortation to it: "From Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
He who utters ten times: 'La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahulmulku wa lahulhamdu, wa Huwa 'ala kulli sha'in Qadir (there is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner with Him. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent),' he will have a reward equal to that for freeing four slaves from the progeny of Prophet Isma'il.
Riyad as-Salihin 1411
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me, "Shall I tell you the expression that is most loved by Allah?" It is 'Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi' (Allah is free from imperfection and His is the praise)'.
Riyad as-Salihin 1412
Narrated by Muslim. And from Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
A bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said to him, "Teach me a few words to recite frequently." He (ﷺ) said, "Say: "La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu; Allahu Akbar kabiran, wal-hamdu lillahi kathiran, wa subhan-Allahi Rabbil-'alamin; wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-'Azizil-Hakim (there is no true god except Allah the One and He has no partner with Him; Allah is the Greatest and greatness is for Him. All praise is due to Him. Allah, the Rubb of the worlds is free from imperfection; there is no might and power but that of Allah, the All-Powerful and the All-Wise.)"' The bedouin said: "All of these for my Rubb. But what is for me?" Thereupon he (Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)) said, "You should say: 'Allahummaghfir li, warhamni, wahdini, warzuqni (O Allah! Grant me pardon, have mercy upon me, direct me to righteousness and provide me subsistence)'." جاء أعرابي إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: علمني كلامًا أقوله، قال: قل لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، الله أكبر كبيرًا، والحمد لله كثيرًا، وسبحان الله رب العالمين، ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العزيز الحكيم، قال: فهؤلاء لربي فما لي؟ قال: قل اللهم اغفر لي وارحمني واهدني وارزقني
Riyad as-Salihin 1414
Narrated by Muslim. And from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
when God’s Messenger finished his prayer he asked forgiveness three times and said, “O God, Thou art Peace, and peace comes from Thee. Blessed art Thou, O Possessor of glory and honour.”
Mishkat al-Masabih 961
It was asked of al-Awza'i, who is one of the narrators of the hadith, how one should seek forgiveness? He said: You say: 'I seek forgiveness from Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah.' Narrated by Muslim"

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
These are hadiths that the author (may Allah have mercy on him) cited in the chapter on the virtue of dhikr. We have previously mentioned some of these hadiths. Among the hadiths he cited today is that whoever says "There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things competent" ten times is like one who has freed four slaves from the descendants of Isma'il. This means: he is like one who has freed the necks of the most noble people in lineage, who are the sons of Isma'il, because the most noble people in lineage are the Arabs, who are the sons of Isma'il. As for the non-Arabs, they have other fathers, but the descendants of Isma'il are the Arabs. So whoever says: "There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things competent" ten times is like one who has freed four slaves. This is evidence of the virtue of this dhikr. Likewise, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
the words liked most by Allah are:" hallowed be Allah and praise is due to Him."
Sahih Muslim 2731b
And it has been mentioned previously that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
(There are) two words which are dear to the Beneficent (Allah) and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the balance. They are: ''Subhan Allah wa-bi hamdihi'' and ''Subhan Allah Al-`Azim.
Sahih al-Bukhari 7563
