We have previously discussed the miracles of the awliya (close friends of Allah) and that these miracles are any matter that transcends the ordinary, meaning it departs from the norm, which Allah the Exalted manifests through the hand of a wali (close friend of Allah) as an honor for him or as support for the religion of Allah. We mentioned that there are verses, and there is sorcery, and there are insults; four things, all of which depart from the norm, and we clarified them previously. Know that every miracle of a wali is a sign for the Prophet whom he followed, because this wali who followed this Prophet, if he is honored with a miracle, it is a testimony from Allah the Exalted to the truth of his path and to the truth of the Shari'ah (Islamic sacred law) he followed. For this reason, we say that every miracle of a wali is a prophetic miracle or a sign for the Prophet whom he followed. Then the author mentioned verses containing miracles, among which is the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Ali 'Imran 3:37] Maryam, the daughter of 'Imran; her mother vowed her, saying: [Ali 'Imran 3:35-37] So when Zakariyyah entered the prayer niche of Maryam, meaning the place of her prayer, he would find with her provision, meaning he would find with her food that did not occur by custom. He would say, "How do you have this? Who brought it?" She said, "It is from Allah." She did not say so-and-so brought it, but rather, it is from Allah Mighty and Majestic, and Allah the Exalted is capable of all things. He brings it from Himself, not from the effort of humans, but from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills without account. At that time, Zakariyyah called upon his Lord, and old age had overtaken him and he had not been given children. He said, "Indeed, Allah is capable of all things," and he used the power of Allah, who brought this provision to Maryam without a human cause, as evidence for the perfection of Allah's power. So he called upon his Lord to give him a child, and the child came to him. In this, there are also miracles. Thus, Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her) has miracles, among which is this matter: her provision comes from Allah; it is not bought from the market, nor brought by so-and-so or so-and-so, but from Allah. And also what we mentioned yesterday when labor pains came to her at the trunk of the palm tree, and she said: [Maryam 19:23] and we have previously spoken about this. Among the miracles is also what happened to the People of the Cave. The People of the Cave and the cave is a spacious cave in the mountain. These people were seven men who saw what the people of their city were upon of shirk (associating partners with Allah) and kufr (disbelief) and were not pleased with it, so they withdrew from their people and emigrated from their city because it was a city of shirk and kufr. So they withdrew from their people and took refuge in a cave, as Allah Blessed and Exalted said: [Al-Kahf 18:13-16] meaning: when you withdrew from them and their shirk, you were commanded to take refuge in the cave [Al-Kahf 18:16] so they took refuge in the cave. The cave, as we said, is a cave in the mountain to which they went. This cave faced the northeast such that the sun did not enter it, neither at the beginning of the day nor at the end of it; Allah made it easy for them, because Allah the Exalted says: [At-Talaq 65:4] And otherwise, these people went out seeking the Face of Allah, so Allah made their affair easy. They took refuge in the cave, and Allah cast sleep upon them. Allah the Exalted clarified this, saying: meaning the sun does not enter upon them completely to cause them heat, but it clips them slightly, a little coming from the sun so that the cave does not become damp and spoil. It enters from the sun only to the extent of need, and they are in a recess of it in a spacious place, as came in the hadith, whenever it reached a recess, meaning a spacious place, they were in a spacious place of the cave. that Allah made this place easy for them. When they entered this place, secure and relying upon Allah the Exalted, entrusting their affair to Him, Allah cast sleep upon them and they slept. How long did they sleep? A day, or two days, or three? No, they slept three hundred years and nine years, and they were sleeping. Three hundred and nine years, they did not wake from heat or cold, nor hunger or thirst. This is from the miracles of Allah. Does one of us remain sleeping for three days without hunger or thirst, without heat or cold? No. These people remained for three hundred years and nine years. [Al-Kahf 18:25] They remained in this. Allah the Exalted says: [Al-Kahf 18:18] Allah the Exalted is the One who turns them. Why did He not say "they turn themselves" to the right and to the left? He said: Do you know why? Because the sleeper has no action; the pen is lifted from him, so even if he did something, it is not of his doing. He turns them to the right and to the left. [Al-Kahf 18:18] At the door, He guards them by the permission of Allah the Exalted. And Allah the Exalted turned them because if they had remained for this long period on one side, the blood would have spoiled and not moved, but they are turned to the right and to the left.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
He (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Chapter on the miracles of the awliya (close friends of Allah) and their virtue. And Allah the Exalted said:
Every time Zechariah entered upon her in the prayer chamber, he found with her provision. He said, "O Mary, from where is this [coming] to you?" She said, "It is from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills without account."
كلما دخل عليها زكريا المحراب وجد عندها رزقًا قال يا مريم أنى لك هذا قالت هو من عند الله إن الله يرزق من يشاء بغير حسابAnd when you have withdrawn from them and that which they worship other than Allah, retreat to the cave. Your Lord will spread out for you of His mercy and will prepare for you from your affair facility." (17) And [had you been present], you would see the sun when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right, and when it set, passing away from them on the left, while they were [laying] within an open space thereof
