Explanation of Riyad al-Salihin-86b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted, in the context of the hadiths, in "the chapter on the prohibition of looking at a non-mahram woman or a handsome young boy without a legitimate religious need.
from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
Allah has written the very portion of Zina which a man will indulge in. There will be no escape from it. The Zina of the eye is the (lustful) look, the Zina of the ears is the listening (to voluptuous songs or talk), the Zina of the tongue is (the licentious) speech, the Zina of the hand is the (lustful) grip, the Zina of the feet is the walking (to the place where he intends to commit Zina), the heart yearns and desires and the private parts approve all that or disapprove it.
Riyad as-Salihin 1622
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. This is the wording of Muslim, and the narration of al-Bukhari is abbreviated. "

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in the Chapter on the Prohibition of Looking at a Non-Mahram Woman and a Well-Formed Young Man for No Legitimate Religious Need, after mentioning the verses
the hadith of Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Man’s share of fornication which he will inevitably commit is decreed for him.
Mishkat al-Masabih 86
meaning that a person will inevitably reach zina, except for whom Allah protects. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned examples of this:
The zina of the eye is looking. This means that if a man looks at a woman, even without desire and even if she is not one of his mahrams, this is a type of zina, namely the zina of the eye.
The zina of the ear is listening. A person listens to a woman's speech and takes pleasure in it; this is the zina of the ear. And likewise
The zina of the hand is seizing.
meaning the action of the hand, such as touching, embracing, and the like.
The zina of the foot is stepping.
meaning that a person walks to a place of immorality, for example, or hears a woman's voice and walks toward it, or sees a woman and walks toward her. This is a type of zina, but it is the zina of the foot.
The heart desires and inclines toward this matter, meaning toward attachment to women. This is the zina of القلب
The heart and the private part: the private part either confirms that or denies it. This means that if a person commits zina with his private part, may Allah protect us from that, then he has confirmed the zina of these limbs. And if he does not commit zina with his private part, but is protected and preserves himself, then this is a denial of the zina of these limbs. This indicates the need to be cautious of attachment to women, whether by their voices, looking at them, touching them, going to them, or the heart's desire for them. All of this is among the types of zina, may Allah protect us from that. Let a sane, chaste person be cautious that any of these limbs becomes attached to women. It is obligatory for a person, if he finds this in himself, to distance himself, because Satan flows through the son of Adam like blood, and the look is a poisoned arrow from the arrows of Iblis. A person may look at a woman and his soul does not become attached to her the first time, but the second time, the third time, until his heart becomes attached to her, may Allah protect us from that. He becomes obsessed and does not mention anyone but this woman: if he stands, he mentions her; if he sits, he mentions her; if he sleeps, he mentions her; if he wakes up, he mentions her. This leads to evil and fitnah. We ask Allah for safety. And success is from Allah.
