The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
These are hadiths regarding sandals and the dislike of a person putting on a sandal on one foot or wearing a leather shoe on one foot. Rather, either he goes barefoot with both feet, meaning he does not wear anything on both feet, or he puts on sandals on both feet together.
And let it be known that wearing sandals is from the Sunnah, and going barefoot is also from the Sunnah. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade excessive going barefoot and commanded going barefoot at times. So the Sunnah is that a person wears sandals, and there is no harm in that. The one who wears sandals is like the rider, but it is recommended that he sometimes walk barefoot among people to display this Sunnah. Some people used to criticize it when they saw a person walking barefoot, saying, "What is this roughness? This is one of the rough people." And this is wrong, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
And when you wear the sandals, when putting them on, put the right foot in first, and when taking them off, start with the left foot. Likewise, if you have put on your sandals and you want to enter the mosque with them, check them upon entering. If there is any harm or dirt in them, wipe them on the ground until it is removed, then pray in them, for this is from the Sunnah.
