Is the permissibility of plural marriage derived from the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “I will outnumber the nations with you on the Day of Resurrection”?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Do we derive from the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
For I will outnumber the prophets with you on the Day of Resurrection فإني مكاثر بكم الأنبياء يوم القيامة
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 10:870
the permissibility of plural marriage, meaning that a man marries more than one woman?

The Shaykh : What do you say? Do we derive from his saying:
for I shall outnumber the Prophets by you إني مكاثر بكم الأنبياء
Bulugh al-Maram 8:3
that a man should marry more than one woman? Yes, is that possible?
Yes, it is possible, because the more numerous the people, the more numerous the offspring. Also, we can say that if a man has wealth, and there are slave women, and he has physical capability, he may take concubines. He may marry four and take ten concubines, is that not so? Yes, that is correct.

The questioner : Shaykh, regarding lineage...

The Shaykh : Huh?

The questioner : I say that regarding lineage, there are social differences among people.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : ...but the entire tribe becomes angry with him.

The Shaykh : No, that is not necessary. I mean, differences... are a matter that is not denied, neither in the early era nor in the modern era. It is not denied that a person from a tribe famous for generosity, bravery, and good character is known for this; that is inevitable. However, making this a cause... or for division is not permissible. Therefore, if a man marries a woman who is not of noble lineage, while he is of noble lineage, there is no blame on him. And likewise the reverse, there is no blame.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : ...lineage and descent.

The Shaykh : No, no. He says that if we consider lineage, there will be classes.
