What is the ruling if an imam other than the khatib leads the people in the Friday prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : How did you say?

The questioner : That the man who delivers the khutbah is the one who preaches, but after he finishes the khutbah, a second imam comes and leads the people in two rak'ahs.

The Shaykh : Ah, of course, this is a form not transmitted from the righteous Salaf.
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Because this division, where he is the khatib but does not recite well, this did not exist before. However, one must look at this khatib; if he does not recite well, there is no harm in the imam who leads the people in prayer being other than the khatib.
The student : Yes, that is right.

The Shaykh : As for if the khatib, meaning, recites well, even if someone else recites better than him, this division should not be done.
The student : Yes.

The Shaykh: Is the answer clear?
The student : Clear, yes, that is right.

The questioner : Shaykh, this hadith of Ibn 'Abbas is about the construction of the House of Allah, the construction of the Ka'bah. Then he said that Jibril, in the hadith, at the end of the hadith:
for this is the site on which the House of Allah will be built by this boy and his father, and Allah will never let neglected His people.' The House of Allah (the Ka'bah) at that time was on a high place resembling a hillock, and when torrents came, they flowed to its right and left. فإن ههنا بيت الله يبنيه هذا الغلام وأبوه ، وإن الله لا يضيِّع أهله ، وكان البيت مرتفعًا من الأرض كالرابية تأتيه السيول ، فتأخذ عن يمينه وشماله
Riyad as-Salihin 1867
. Then the Hafiz mentioned in his commentary on this hadith and attributed a report to Ibn Abi Hatim via 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, who said: "When the time of the flood came, the House was raised, and the prophets would perform Hajj to it but did not know its location, until Allah the Exalted established it for Ibrahim and informed him of its location." Yes; so this is the attribution to Ibn Abi Hatim from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, a mawquf report, yes, Shaykh. And he also mentioned another report and attributed it to al-Bayhaqi in al-Dala'il, saying: "Allah sent Jibril to Adam and ordered him to build the House."

The Shaykh : Yes.
