The ruling on a woman traveling for 'Umrah in a public transport bus without a mahram

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: The sister who used the name Umm Muhammad Salih as a code, from al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, says in her question: A divorced woman, forty years old, has no mahram, as she lives alone in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah; because her sons, the eldest of whom is 16 years old, live with their father in another city. This woman went to Makkah al-Mukarramah in the blessed month of Ramadan for 'Umrah in a public transport bus that has a special section for women. The public transport dropped her off in front of the Haram, and after she finished her 'Umrah, she took another public transport bus to the main bus station outside Makkah al-Mukarramah, and from there she traveled to al-Madinah in public transport buses. Is she sinful for traveling while she is of this age and in these circumstances?

A: If the reality is as the questioner described, then the aforementioned travel is forbidden, and the aforementioned woman must repent to Allah for that, by feeling regret for what occurred from her, and making a sincere resolve not to return to it; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A woman should not travel except with a Dhu-Mahramلا تسافر المرأة إلا مع ذي محرم
Sahih al-Bukhari 1862
agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim, from the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both). And Allah the Exalted said:
And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.
[Surah al-Hashr: 7].
And Allah is the One who grants success.
