Question: The second ruling from Fatwa No. ( 17455 )
Q2: I live in Kafr al-Ziyat , and the college affiliated with it is in Tanta , and the distance between them is 13 km, so what is the ruling on traveling to the college without a mahram, given that I am receiving Islamic knowledge from a sister?
A2: The distance mentioned is not a travel distance that requires a mahram,
but it is not permissible for you to ride alone with a man who is not one of your mahrams; because this is a forbidden seclusion. It is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 2:94. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
