Light striking is permissible for discipline

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: We have a sister who is ill, and sometimes we strike her lightly, but we feel psychological pain about it. Is there anything required of us in this?

A: It is obligatory for you to consider her condition and not do what increases her illness. If she cannot tolerate being struck, it is not permissible for you to strike her. However, if the illness is mild and she makes mistakes and does some things for which she deserves light discipline, there is nothing wrong with it.
But you must consider her condition. If the striking harms her, do not strike her. However, if this striking you do with her does not harm her because her illness is mild and there is a pressing need to discipline her so that she refrains from what is not permissible, there is no blame on you.
