Is there a sin incurred by striking a sick person?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister says: We have a sister who is somewhat ill, and sometimes we strike her lightly, but we feel psychological pain about it. Is there anything required of us in this?

Answer:
It is obligatory for you to show mercy to her condition and not to do what increases her illness. If she cannot tolerate being struck, it is not permissible for you to strike her. However, if the illness is mild and she does things that warrant light discipline, there is no harm in it. But you must consider her condition; if the striking harms her, do not strike her and do not make her situation worse.
As for if that striking you do with her does not harm her, because her illness is mild and there is a pressing need to discipline her so that she refrains from what is not permissible, then there is no blame on you. Yes.
