Hold Firm to Your Repentance
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: I am a Muslim woman who had some slips and sins, and I have repented from them, praise be to Allah. But some of my sisters have followed my previous path, and whenever I advise them, they remind me of my past; so I am forced to rebuke them and argue with them. I am desperate and in pain when I see them following my previous style. What is your advice, may Allah reward you with good? And what is your advice regarding holding firm to repentance, even though I do not find anyone to help me with that among my work colleagues and friends?
The one striving toward guidance
A: My advice to you is to increase your gratitude to Allah for the favor He has bestowed upon you of repentance. I also advise you to hold firm and ask Allah, the Exalted, for help in doing so. Be careful of the company of deviant colleagues, while advising them and warning them of the consequences of their bad morals, due to the saying of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) : [At-Tawbah: 71] and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): May Allah improve your condition and their condition, and protect everyone from the whispers of Satan. Indeed, He is Generous and Bountiful.

الدين النصيحةThe believers in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion are like one body; when one part of it complains, the rest of the body responds to it with sleeplessness and fever.
مثل المؤمنين في توادهم وتراحمهم وتعاطفهم مثل الجسد الواحد إذا اشتكى منه عضو تداعى له سائر الجسد بالسهر والحمى
