Touching a non-mahram woman: Does it invalidate the wudu?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: A question from: S. A. M. - Shubra - Egypt, which reads: What is the ruling in the Shari'ah regarding a man touching a non-mahram woman with his hand without a barrier? Does it invalidate the wudu or not? And what is meant by a non-mahram woman?

A: Touching a woman does not invalidate the wudu at all, according to the most correct opinion of the scholars; because it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he kissed some of his wives and then prayed without performing wudu.
It is not permissible for a woman to shake hands with any man other than her mahrams, just as it is not permissible for a man to shake hands with a woman who is not his mahram, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
But I do not shake hands with women.إني لا أصافح النساء
Sunan Ibn Majah 2874Sahih (Darussalam)
And because it is established from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her):
That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to take the pledge of allegiance from women with words only. She said: And his hand never touched the hand of a woman.أن النبي ﷺ كان يبايع النساء بالكلام فقط قالت: وما مست يده يد امرأة قط
.
And Allah the Exalted said:
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent patternلَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ
[Al-Ahzab: 21].
And because shaking hands between women and men, and between men and women, other than mahrams, is among the causes of fitnah for everyone, and the complete Islamic Shari'ah has come with blocking the means (sadd al-dhara'i') that lead to what Allah has forbidden.
From what has preceded, it is known that a non-mahram woman is one between whom and the man there is no relationship that makes her forbidden to him by lineage or a permissible cause; this is the non-mahram woman. As for one who is forbidden to a man by lineage, such as his mother, sister, or aunt, or by a legal cause, such as breastfeeding or in-law relationships, she is not a non-mahram.
And success is from Allah.
