Is it prescribed for one who perfumes himself with cologne to renew his wudu'?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: There has been much debate regarding perfuming oneself with cologne. Is it prescribed for a Muslim who has performed wudu' to renew his wudu' from it, or to wash the parts of his body it has touched?

A: The perfume known as cologne is not free from the substance known as "spirit" (alcohol), which is an intoxicating substance according to the testimony of doctors. Therefore, it is obligatory to refrain from using it and to substitute it with pure perfumes.
As for performing wudu' from it, it is not obligatory, nor is it obligatory to wash what has touched the body from it; because there is no clear evidence of its impurity. And success is from Allah.
