Ruling on Participating in the Christians' Festivals

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: Some Muslims participate in the Christians' festivals, so what is your guidance?

Answer: It is not permissible for a Muslim man or woman to participate in the festivals of the Christians, the Jews, or other disbelievers; rather, it is obligatory to leave that alone; because whoever imitates a people is one of them, and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) warned us against imitating them and adopting their character traits.
So the believer man and the believer woman should beware of that, and it is not permissible for them to assist in that in any way; because they are festivals that contradict the Shari'ah, so it is not permissible to participate in them, nor to cooperate with their people, nor to help them in any way, not with tea, not with coffee, nor with anything else such as utensils and the like. And because Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says:
And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.
[Al-Ma'idah: 2], so participating with the disbelievers in their festivals is a type of cooperation in sin and transgression.
