Protecting the Sacred Mosque from the impurity of children
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: We were in the Sacred Mosque to perform the lesser pilgrimage, and because it was difficult to find lodging for even one night, we spent our night in the Sacred Mosque. I had with me a small girl who was not yet three and a half years old. She fell asleep, and I did not realize until I found wetness on the bed inside the sacred precinct. I did not think to wash it because of the many people sleeping around us; I forgot about it. What is required of me? Please advise us.
A: What is obligatory for you is to repent for what happened and not to return to such a thing. If it happens that you spend the night in the Sacred Mosque, or in the Prophet’s Mosque, or in any other mosque, and you have a little girl with you, it is obligatory to train her in a way that prevents her urine or feces from reaching the mosque. Whenever any of that is found, it is obligatory for you to clean the mosque of it, or to inform those in charge of cleaning about the situation so that they can clean the mosque of it. It is not permissible for you to be lax in this matter.
May Allah forgive us, and you, and every Muslim.
