The ruling on fiddling with the beard and clothing during prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: What is the ruling on fiddling with the beard or clothing during prayer?

A: Fiddling with the beard or clothing during prayer is not permissible; rather, it is obligatory to remain still. Allah the Exalted said:
(1) Certainly will the believers have succeeded: (2) They who are during their prayer humbly submissiveقَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۝ الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ خَاشِعُونَ ۝
[Al-Mu'minun: 1-2] Therefore, it is prescribed for the Muslim to be humble in his prayer and not to fiddle with either the beard or the garment. However, a slight amount is excused, while a great deal is not permissible. And success is from Allah.
