The Ruling on Fidgeting During the Performance of Prayer and the Criterion for Movement in Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I observe that some of the worshippers engage in a lot of fidgeting while performing their prayer. He moves his clothes, reaches his hands to parts of his body to clean them, and so on. He requests guidance as well, if you would be so kind, O Shaykh.

Answer:
The Sunnah for the worshipper is to be still in prayer, to be humble in it, and not to fidget, neither with his clothes, nor his beard, nor his nose, nor anything else. This is the Sunnah. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :
Certainly will the believers have succeeded:قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۝
[Al-Mu'minun 23:1]
the ones who are humble in their prayers [Al-Mu’minun:1-2]. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he saw some of his Companions gesturing with their hands, said:
Be calm in your prayer.اسكنوا في الصلاة
.
The believer is commanded to be still and humble in prayer, both the voluntary and the obligatory. However, if there is a need to adjust something without prolonging it, but rather something light; then there is no harm in that -if Allah wills- but there should be no prolongation in it, nor excess, but rather it should be a small amount. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
