The manner of raising the hands at the takbir in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: The brother A. M. S. from Casablanca asks and says: He observes some of the worshippers that when they rise from the bowing, they raise their hands as if they are making supplication—meaning the palms are facing their faces. Is this action of theirs in accordance with the Sunnah? If not, what is the appropriate manner of raising the hands after the bowing and in other instances?

A: It is the Sunnah for the worshipper to raise his hands to the level of his shoulders or to the level of his ears at the takbir of ihram, at the bowing, when rising from it, and when standing up from the first tashahhud to the third rak'ah, directing the palms toward the qiblah. This is the Sunnah, and it is what is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). May Allah grant success.
