The Ruling on Verbalizing the Intention in Prayer and Ablution

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: A. B., a Sudanese resident in Jeddah, asks: What is the ruling on verbalizing the intention in prayer and ablution?

A: The ruling on that is that it is a religious innovation (bid'ah); because it was not transmitted from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) nor from his Companions, so it must be abandoned. The place of the intention is the heart, so there is absolutely no need to verbalize the intention.
And success is from Allah.
