The Hadith of the Seven and Is It Specific to Men?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: The brother who indicated his name as B. A. Q. A. from the Institute of Islamic Studies in Hawtat Bani Tamim in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, says in his question: Is the Hadith of the seven whom Allah will shade in His shade on the Day when there is no shade except His shade specific to males? Or does a woman who performs the deeds of these people receive the reward mentioned in the Hadith?

A: This virtue mentioned in this Hadith is not specific to men, but it includes both men and women. So, the young woman who grew up in the worship of Allah is included in that, and likewise the women who love each other for the sake of Allah are included in that, and likewise every woman whom a person of status and beauty invites to immorality and she says, "I fear Allah," is included in that, and likewise the one who gives charity from good earnings, such that her left hand does not know what her right hand spends, is included in that, and likewise the one who remembers Allah in seclusion from women is included in that, just as men are.
As for leading the prayer, it is one of the specific attributes of men, and likewise congregational prayer in the mosques is specific to men, and a woman’s prayer in her home is better for her, as the authentic Hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) state. And success is from Allah.
