Allocating a specific amount of the Qur'an for each rak'ah and for each night
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: What is your opinion, may Allah preserve you and benefit you with your knowledge, regarding what some imams do in allocating a specific amount of the Qur'an for each rak'ah and for each night?
A: I am not aware of anything specific regarding this, because the matter comes down to the imam's independent legal reasoning. If he sees that it is in the public benefit to increase the amount in some nights or some rak'ahs because he is more energetic, and he sees strength in himself for that, and he sees that he takes pleasure in the recitation, and he increases some verses so that he benefits and those behind him benefit, then if his voice is good and his heart is pleased with the recitation and he is humble in it, he and those behind him will benefit. So if he increases some verses in some rak'ahs or in some nights, we do not know of any harm in it, and the matter is broad, praise be to Allah the Exalted.
